Gérard Titus-Carmel
Mixed media
160 x 121cm
Mixed technique on paper
The use of brown, ochre or brass inks, associated with traces of red chalk and sepia, reveals the artist's great control of color. Non narrative, leaving no place to the detail or the anecdote, all Titus-Carmel's work invites to meditate.

Gérard Titus-Carmel
France
Born in 1942
Painter, draftsman, and engraver but also poet.
Since the early 1970's, he works in series about a theme or an object he creates himself before drawing or painting it. In surprising compositions which show a formidable formal assertiveness, he re-creates the movement through wales and hatching with pencil lead.
