Francesco Marino di Teana a consacré son œuvre à la rencontre entre la sculpture et la cité, entre l’art et l’architecture. Il a ainsi réalisé de très nombreuses pièces pour des espaces urbains. Son travail est basé sur l’assemblage de pièces métalliques simples, aux lignes claires, et sur la recherche d’une relation harmonieuse, d’un dialogue significatif entre ces volumes et l’espace environnant. Cependant, dans leur simplicité apparente, les lignes droites ou courbes de ces sculptures résultent toujours de calculs et de combinaisons mathématiques sans faille. Marino di Teana concilie ainsi sensibilité, intuition et rigueur de la construction.
Born in 1920 in Teana, Italy.
Deceased in 2012 in Périgny-sur-Yerres, France.
Francesco Marino di Teana dedicated his work to the encounter between sculpture and the city, art and architecture. He created numerous installations for urbain spaces. His practice is based on the assembling of simple, neatly outlined metalllic pieces, and the search for a harmonious relationship and significant dialogue between these volumes and their environment.
Despite their seemingly simple conceptions, the sculptures' straight or curvy lines are the result of meticulous mathematic combinations.
Marino di Teana ultimately conciliates sensibility, intuition and rigor in construction.
