Cheval flèche

1993

Sotor

Sculpture

Sotor's work has been on display in the artist’s home country, Chile, since he was 14 years old. Sotor has lived and work in France since the mid-1970s. His favourite medium is iron that he solders, grinds, sands and polishes. Alongside his sculptures, he also creates pieces of furniture.

Sotor explores the theme of the horse and the Centurion in works in which the subject is explicit. His characters appear to belong to a mythological and legendary past that is clearly described. The representation of Cheval Flèche is not unlike some cave paintings.
