For its new exhibition, the Societe General Art Collection invited curator Lauranne Germond: as a part of this Carte Blanche, she elaborated a new display highlighting what unites human beings with nature. In more than sixty artworks, all the ramifications and complexities of this bond are explored. Introduction. 
 

This book traces and highlights through a didactic and unique perspective almost thirty years of acquisitions for the biggest contemporary art collection gathered by a bank in France.

This year, for its latest acquisitions, the Collection chose to focus on upcoming artists. After launching a call for projects to the new graduates from the Beaux-Arts de Paris at the end of last year, the works of fourteen of them joined the Collection right on time for the second instalment of the “Collective Transport” exhibition. But these young artists have even more to offer: full of vitality, they brim over with ideas and projects, and there are many ways to discover their work.

With the recent opening of the M+ museum, the context for contemporary art in Asia is particularly dynamic! After a successful call for proposals to the new graduates from the Beaux-Arts in Paris, Societe Generale launches a new call for proposals, this time for young artists in Hong Kong. 

 

After a first part this spring consisting of a selection of artworks from the Societe Generale Art Collection and guest artists, the “Collective Transports” exhibition opens its second installment. Conceived by the independent curator Marie-Ann Yemsi* as well, it extends the dialogue between works from the Collection and pieces made by emerging artists. This time, it is about creating relationships between new acquisitions and artworks that have been part of the Collection for years already.
