Discovering the work of Eva Nielsen
Eva, born in 1983 and graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2009, was a scholarship holder at the Central Saint Martins School in London. Before devoting himself to the visual arts, Nielsen studied modern languages and European studies at the Sorbonne. Her diverse academic background enriches her artistic practice, where she explores the boundaries between painting, photography and screen printing.
Eva has just been nominated for the 2025 Marcel Duchamp Prize. This prize, recognized for its significant contribution to the promotion of contemporary artists, is awarded to one winner among four nominated artists. Thus, this selection by Eva Nielsen highlights her growing impact in the art world, especially through her innovative works that challenge the conventions of visual media.
Currently, her solo exhibition at the Bullukian Foundation in Lyon presents a captivating body of work that explores utopian and timeless landscapes. This exhibition will be followed by a presentation at the Abbey of Fontevraud during the summer of 2025, offering a unique opportunity to discover his work in a historical setting.
In April 2025, Nielsen will also open an exhibition at the Fondation Hermès / La Verrière in Brussels, coinciding with the highlight of Art Brussels. His works continue to arouse interest, notably with a piece currently on display at the Louvre Lens as part of the new hanging at the Galerie du Temps, which highlights themes exploring the relationship between art and time.
Eva Nielsen's creations, which play with the limits of reality and imagination, reflect a complex artistic process. Through collages that mix photographs, personal memories and industrial structures, she creates reconstructed perspectives that question our relationship to urban and natural spaces. His works, which have already been shown at prestigious institutions such as the Kunsthaus Baselland and the Mac/Val, are part of public and private collections.
We strongly invite you to follow his promising journey in the coming months.
