Takis

1925

Greece

Greek sculptor.

Takis’ fascination for stations, signals, iron, and unique and secrete sonorities goes back to his childhood. His first Signals were flexible metal stems that would flicker. Those at the Grande Arche at La Défense are a good example of this work.

Takis attempts to reveal secret and mystic forces like electricity and magnetism through the movement they create or the sound they produce.

There is a kind of magic in seeing heavy and hard object move, drawn by an obscure force. His works are traps of energy.
