Painting
100 x 100 cm
Houston Maludi, who’s been drawing since he was a kid, realized his first drawings with watercolour and a piece of wood as a brush. He entered the Kinshasa School of Fine Arts in 1993, and graduated in 1997. After several years of searching and aesthetic experiments, Houston Maludi created in 2008 what he called the “symbiotic and quantum monochromic cubism” which corresponds to his “own” cubism, obtained by a “symbiosis of form”. To illustrate this unity, perfect and discreet, between the elements, while claiming his use of filling and his passion for lines which “expresses life in its dynamism”, Houston Maludi works the black and white and uses contrast. The line is as the heart of his work. The symbiotic of error does not exist. If one knows how to exploit it, it is a line that can be integrated in the composition.
