A historic display of the Collection to mark the 150th anniversary
Since 2011, independent exhibition curators have been invited to choose works from the Collection twice a year, so as to design an innovative display in the dedicated area on the 1st floor of the Towers in La Défense. From Régis Durand to Jean-François Chougnet, the curators’ edifying and unique approaches have shown very different aspects of the Collection.
The new display designed to mark Societe Generale’s 150th anniversary is based on a meeting and conversation between two historical figures involved with the Collection, namely Marc Viénot, the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group, who is passionate about modern art, and who created the Collection in 1995, and Guy Boyer, who has been advising the Collection since 2004, and is Senior Editor of Connaissance des Arts. This rich display, which assembles around 100 symbolic works, will retrace the Collection’s main outlines and strong priorities for the first time, based on the theme of “Invitations to Travel”.
