Erik Binder's work is a reaction to his surrounding environment. For him, art is an open platform, a playground where the rules emerge during the game. His projects always concern mass culture, its heroes and its scapegoats.

Born in 1974

Born in Hnúšť-Likier, Slovakia, Erik Binder lived and worked in Bratislava.

A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, he gained recognition for his participation in the Venice Biennale in 2003. He was also featured in the 2008 group exhibition "Micro-Narratives, Temptation of Small Realities" at the Museum of Modern Art in Saint-Étienne.
