Schneck Antoine

Antoine Schneck discovered photography at the age of 12 upon finding an old Kodak camera in a cupboard. A vocation was born, and his heroes included the likes of Henri Cartier-Bresson, William Klein, Richard Avedon and Marc Riboud. When the time to tackle university studies came, Antoine Schneck opted for architecture before enrolling at the Louis Lumière Film School. He worked as a television camera man, and then won an award from the Fondation Carat that allowed him to travel the world.

Benefitting from this experience, at the age of 30 Antoine Schneck made the decision to indulge his first passion. Since then, he has devoted himself wholly and decisively to photography. Portraiture had always appealed to him. He first worked with a sheet film view camera before switching to digital for its supreme quality and perfect definition. His pieces are presented in series, covering his travels, desires and projects, and always come across as an encounter.
