“Des mots et des mondes” at Beaux-Arts de Paris

Beaux-Arts de Paris presents, from 24 March to 24 May 2026, the new exhibition “Des mots et des mondes”, developed by the “Artistes & Métiers de l’exposition” programme and supported by Societe Generale, a patron of the institution since 2020. This partnership—strengthened in 2024 around this programme dedicated to curatorial practices and contemporary issues of art dissemination—illustrates the Group’s commitment to supporting emerging artists and promoting artistic excellence.

For the occasion, four artworks from the Societe Generale Art Collection have been exceptionally loaned: pieces by major artists such as Daniel Spoerri and Antoni Tapiès, alongside works by contemporary artists Omar Ba and Léonard Martin, highlighting the diversity and vitality of the artistic scene supported by the Collection.

Born from discussions around the role of language in current artistic practices, “Des mots et des mondes” explores how poetry, writing and orality nurture new forms of narration. Bringing together around one hundred works by students, artist-teachers, invited international artists and pieces from the Beaux-Arts collections, the exhibition creates dialogues across eras (from the 12th century to today), mediums and cultures. Paintings, installations, videos, artists’ books, music or dance form a journey where words become material, rhythm and a space of freedom.

The result of a collaboration with students from the “Artistes & Métiers de l’exposition” programme, the project questions the relationships between creation and heritage, theory and practice, transmission and experimentation. An invitation to discover how words can, today, open up new worlds.
