Fouad Bellamine

Mixed media

Triptych of 73 x 60 cm (each backboard)

Triptych
Mixed technique on canvas

For many years, Fouad Bellamine has been working on space and memory, using the creative gesture to explore the plastic and psychological expressions of paint. Bellamine's work therefore directly contributes to a philosophical redefinition of painting. "I'm not interested in paintings where you can feel the production process. What I like are creative, spontaneous gestures. Where there is no creative surge there can be no creative work." Fouad Bellamine's approach is to clarify, simplify and remove any unnecessary effects. All that remains is a minimalist/expressionist dialectic that "enlivens the painting".
