Jean Dewasne
Painting
50 x 65 cm
Created: 1952
Medium: lacquer on metal
Size: 50 x 65cm
Jean Dewasne’s aim is to move away from any illusion of 3D, and he is looking for flat, level paint, providing maximum intensity for all the different shades and hues, and dreams of a material that will allow him to apply large, flat surfaces of pure colours without having any distorting effect. In his quest, he decided to stop working on canvas and moved to metallic surfaces.
