Land 5 is part of the long history of the representation of landscape in painting. Here, the landscape is presented in a fantasized version, without any human presence, a virgin landscape, at a time when the destruction of our environments is rarefiing these untouched regions. The work is part of a larger series that reflects this reversal of the place we occupy in natural spaces, previously harmonious but now destructive. The play of resemblances, which in Silvère Jarrosson's work oscillates between pure abstraction and lands seen from the sky, allows the artist to evoke these virgin worlds on the verge of disappearing, between territories still preserved and landscapes.

Lives and works in Paris, France.

A graduate of the Paris Opera Ballet School as a dancer, Silvère Jarrosson has seized on the pictorial medium to translate his gestural language. In acrylic and oil, he deploys abstract forms and structures, whose resemblance to our world is striking. At the end of a master's degree in biology, his works were presented at the National Museum of Natural History, weaving links between artistic and scientific approaches, between natural and pictorial morphogenesis. Laureate of the Claude Monet Foundation in 2018, he then went to the Villa Medici in 2019, then to the Lambert Collection in 2020 and 2021. He multiplied exhibitions in France and abroad. His work is part of numerous collections, including those of the Mobilier national and the Paris Opera. He created a scenography for the Opéra national du Rhin in 2022.
