Noël Pasquier
1941
France
French painter.
Pasquier is strongly interested in public art. His monumental creations and public orders are part of several architectural projects including the mural at the Rennes train station and a sculpture at the Montparnasse building in Paris.
The rich and dense palette of ochre, soft and bright blues, and violent purples are structured by an abstract geometry.
His work is broadly inspired by nature, the sea and the coast, in line with the tradition of marine painters. Emerald, a tapestry, is not so much a representation, but manages still to bring to mind the world of the sea.
