Jean-Marc Bustamante
1952
France
French artist (Fine arts), born in 1952 in Toulouse, France
10 years after the creation of the Lumières or the Lights, Jean-Marc Bustamante finds a new role for plexiglas: this material will be the support for a new kind of paintings. The building principle of it is simple.
First, thanks to colorful felt-tips and on a A4-format sheet, the artist does some little drawings which will then be pictured before a screen process on plexiglas for an oversized version.
Venice biennal exhibition ; Yokohama Museum of Art, Japan ; Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume, Paris ; Tate Gallery, London
